Thin solid films roll up into nanotubes

WebAug 30, 2012 · Nanocomposite platelets were fabricated through multilayer deposition, laser patterning, and lift-off. The resultant micro-platelets rolled up to a microtube structure after they were released from the substrate. They can evolve from a tube to a flat plain sheet structure under heating, and can also roll up to a tube again under cooling. WebSep 1, 2003 · Scroll-shaped tubes rolled from thin initial bifilms turn as hollow cylinders with continuous walls so that the wall in them represents a single crystal [4], [7]. Therefore, the nanotube is a real tube, not a scroll. Download : Download full-size image Fig. 5. HRTEM images of nanotubes rolled from InGaAs/GaAs bifilms.
