It brought the rpms down but it also brought the vacuum down enough that my mileage stayed the same. About 11 mpg. For me it was a waste of $3000.00.

Bottom line is when you are in 3rd gear with the C6, and you kick in the GV, It will drop your RPM,s about 500. That is the advantage. I love mine! For ANY transmission that does not sustain a decent rpm on the highway. As for weight, the Gear Vendors unit adds 25lbs. total to the car. A 4 speed OD with a lock up convertor will add at least that much, and most of the added weight is where you don't want it, in the convertor. My personal preferance is a well built TH-350 or 400 with the Gear Vendors unit. mary mother of god church white oak paWebSep 9, 2014 · The cost and installation trouble of a Gear Vendor setup really is only justified with a big block, and only then if driven hard pretty often. TH350 and Gear Vendors probably shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence. They are just a strength mismatch. Basically, you wait until you have to rebuild your tranny and then after spending 3-3.5K on the rebuild, you drop the additional 3K on the Gear Vendors. Talk about a slap of OMG!
