I asked a friend of mine about it and he said his Xbox is having the same issue. If I turn the controller off and back on, it works. If I hold the Xbox button down for 15 seconds or so, it begins working again. WebIt's definitely the TV that does it. Turning off HDMI cec doesn't fix it either. There's really only 1 option I see, to work around it: Keep your palm over the front of the remote when turning on the tv or choosing the HDMI port your xbox goes in. I know it sounds retarded, but it works. The xbox is turned on via IR signal from the remote.
